Our Trip to Dallas!

The trip to Dallas was wonderful, but I thought it was going to be horrible! I had so much on my hands! I had 3 bags and 2 cat carriers with cats inside to check as baggage, the 2 babies, the stroller, 2 car seats, 2 diaper bags (one for my mom and one for me), my own carry on with my diabetic supplies and food just in case, 2 blankets, my mom and myself to worry about!!!! That would make anyone go crazy. We were about 15 minutes away from our house when I realized I forgot to take the stroller out of my car and put it into Daniels truck!!! The trip didn't start out great, but the once I got that first problem out of my way everything else went GREAT! My mom was helping me fly home with the boys since Daniel had to go to Mojave Viper. We got there in plenty of time so we were able to get the bulk head seats....which was a huge help! Daniel was able to get a buddy pass from the airlines to help us all the way to the gate and say bye to us there. It was a very bitter sweet moment! I didn't want to leave Daniel behind, but he had to go train for Iraq and I didn't want to spend Thanksgiving by "myself". So the four of us boarded the plane early and had everyone stopping to talk to the boys on the plane. Maybe next time we shouldn't sit so close to the front so we don't hold up the boarding process. The whole plane ride they were absolutely wonderful!!! The people around us were so helpful with the boys as well. They carried our carry ons off the plane, unfolded the stroller, and put car seats on the stroller for me. It was such a great experience! I hope every time we fly its that good!

My dad, father-in-law, mother-in-law, and brother-in-law all meet my mom, the boys and I at the baggage claim. We had so much stuff it all wouldn't fit in my dads Expedition, so my father-in-law had to help bring some of the crap back to my parents house. The boys were so tired once we arrived at the house they were ready for bed. It was 7 pm Texas time, but only 5 pm California time....so needless to say they got on that time schedule very easy. I didn't want them on Texas time, but it worked out well while we were there.

We had a wonderful visit while we were there. The boys got to meet all of Daniels family and a very small portion of my very large family, old friends of mine, neighbors, and lots of strangers that stop and talk to the boys (they get so much attention being twins!!!!!). They had their first Thanksgiving while we were there, but they slept through Thanksgiving lunch since it was at 2....their nap time.
One of the best things that happened while we were in Dallas is Corbin finally learned how to sleep through the whole night and not wake up for his mommy to hold him!!!!!!!!! Oh my goodness what a blessing that is and was!!!! Ever since the boys were born we have always rocked the boys to sleep. I learned that was a mistake! The night of November 15th (I will remember that day like I remember their birth) my dad helped me put the boys in their bed awake....Peyton cried for about 10 minutes and went to sleep....Corbin on the other hand cried for AWHILE, but finally figured it out and put himself to sleep and slept the whole night!!!! Now that I have learned to put the boys to bed awake it makes a huge difference! They sleep 12 to 13 hours night! They sleep from 7 or 8 pm to 7 or 8 the next morning! I love this!!!! Why didn't I listen to the doctor and my parents a long time ago. It now takes about 5 to 10 minutes for both of them to fall asleep in bed!!! I have to admit it was really hard, but well worth it!
Daniel got to Texas a few days before Christmas and was able to start the boys on level 2 of their baby food. It was the first time Daniel got to feed the boys baby food, since we started baby food once we got to Texas.
We spent Christmas day with both families and the boys loved Christmas! They didn't care about their toys really...all they wanted was the wrapping paper. Mental note...no presents needed for the first Christmas...only wrapping paper!!!!

The flight back to California was just as good! My mom got a buddy pass and helped us through the check point and was able to say bye from the gate just like Daniel did last time. We were not able to get the bulk head seats because it was an emergency exit, but the flight still went great. They slept for most of the time and looked at people all around us until they would talk to them. Daniel was sitting next to a 19 or 20 year old guy that didn't want any part of babies. Corbin was trying to play with the guys computer, hit him on the arm...anything just to get the guys attention but nothing worked! I felt so sorry for Corbin....he just wanted to play. Poor baby!!! We landed 2 1/2 hours later, but it took 4 hours to get out of the airport due to the fact that the San Diego airport SUCKS!!! They unloaded the car seats and strollers that were loaded at the gate last!!!! So we were stuck in tunnel that connects the airplane and the airport for 30 minutes. Then we had to get our luggage...that went well. I stayed with the luggage and the boys while Daniel took a shuttle to get our car and pick us back up at the baggage claim. Needless to say it took forever! By this point I was done...the boys were done and we still had to go get baby food at the store and pick food up for us. It was a VERY LOOOONNNNGGGGGG day, but the boys were great!!!

It took a couple days, but the boys are back on California time and still sleeping through the entire night!
